How-toSettings

Manage account and organization settings

Update profile, identity, security, preferences, and organization membership settings through their verified controls.

These workflows cover the common changes available from the dedicated Settings service. Complete only the section that owns your intended change.

Before you begin

Sign in with the account you intend to change. For organization workflows, verify the organization group before submitting a form. Keep authentication and backup codes out of notes, screenshots, and support messages.

Update your profile

  1. Under Personal settings, select Profile.
  2. Review First name, Last name, LinkedIn profile URL, Which of the following applies to you?, Company, Job title, and Bio as applicable.
  3. Optionally update the avatar and interest fields.
  4. Select Update profile.

Infra One confirms the save with Updated the profile.

Change or add an email address

  1. Select Email.
  2. To replace the primary address, enter the new value under Change your email, then select Change email.
  3. Keep the intended account signed in, then open the confirmation link sent to the new address within seven days. The link succeeds only for the signed-in account that requested the change.
  4. To keep another sign-in address, use Add an email address instead.
  5. After that address shows Confirmed, use Make primary if notifications should move to it, or Remove if it should no longer sign in.

A confirmed additional address can sign in to the same account. Notifications continue to the primary address until you explicitly change it.

Change your password

  1. Select Password.
  2. Enter Current password, New password, and New password confirmation.
  3. Select Change password.

A successful change shows Updated the password. It invalidates the account’s previous sessions and other outstanding account tokens, then establishes the current session again. If you do not know the current password, use Forgot your password? to send a reset link.

An OAuth-only account may not have a password you know. In that case, open Password, select Forgot your password?, and use the emailed reset link to establish one instead of guessing the Current password.

Enable or maintain two-factor authentication

  1. Select Two-factor authentication.
  2. Enter the current password, then select Enable for first-time setup or Change when 2FA is already enabled.
  3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator, or choose Enter secret manually instead.
  4. Enter the six-digit Authentication code and select Verify code.
  5. On first-time setup, save the ten backup codes shown after verification. They are account-recovery credentials and must not be shared.

When 2FA is enabled, the page shows 2FA enabled. Enter the current password and select Change before View backup codes, Regenerate backup codes, or Disable two-factor authentication becomes available. Changing the authenticator preserves the existing backup-code set. Regenerating replaces and invalidates every old backup code; disabling removes the challenge from future sign-ins.

Set personal preferences

  1. Under Notifications, change Allow marketing notifications. The checkbox saves automatically and shows Updated the profile; there is no separate submit button.
  2. Under Localization, choose Display currency and Formatting locale, then select Update localization.
  3. Under Appearance, use the single switch labeled Switch to dark mode or Switch to light mode. It applies and saves the theme immediately across pages and devices, with no separate submit button or success flash. Subsequent page loads render the saved theme directly.

Invite an organization member

  1. Open the intended organization group, then select Team.
  2. Select Invite new member.
  3. Enter Email and choose a Role.
  4. Select Invite.

The success message says Sent the invitation to email. The pending row supports Resend and Delete. The recipient accepts or rejects the membership under their own Invitations page.

Success check

Reload the affected page. The saved value, security state, or pending invitation remains visible in the same account and organization context.

Troubleshooting

  • If a field remains highlighted, correct it before resubmitting.
  • If an email link is invalid or expired, start the email change again from Email.
  • If the current password fails, use the reset workflow instead of repeatedly guessing.
  • If organization controls are unavailable, select Request admin access, then Send request in the modal, or ask an existing administrator. Sending the request does not grant immediate access.
  • If an invitation has already been settled or withdrawn, the recipient sees That invitation is no longer available.
