TroubleshootingSignatures

Troubleshoot Signatures

Resolve Signatures setup, uploads, draft editing, recipient-field, invitation, and access problems.

Send document is disabled

If the dashboard shows Complete setup to unlock full functionality, select Set up contacts and complete the organization’s contact information. Return to Signatures and try Send document again.

A document upload is rejected

Use PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, or PPTX and keep the file at or below 10 MB. Confirm that the file is readable and contains only approved content.

Customize cannot continue

For a multi-signer agreement, add at least one recipient and place at least one signing field on the document before opening Preview. Before sending, assign at least one field to every recipient who needs to sign. If sending reports These signers have no field to sign, return to Customize and correct each named recipient. If Sign in order is enabled, verify the recipient sequence.

A draft is read-only

Only the uploader can edit recipients and fields, and only while the document remains Draft. A document that has already been sent redirects to its read-only viewer.

A document or invitation-status page denies access

Confirm the organization in the URL and your relationship to the resource. A document is available to its uploader or an assigned signer; the invitation-status page is restricted to its uploader.

A reminder or cancellation control is missing

The invitation must still be outstanding and eligible for that action. Signed, Cancelled, and Expired rows are terminal. Refresh the page before retrying so the row reflects any signer activity that occurred in another session.

An agreement is not under the expected tab

The Agreements scopes combine document and recipient state. A completed recipient can coexist with other outstanding recipients, leaving the agreement under Waiting for others. Open the invitation-status view, inspect every current row, and compare the signed-count summary. With Sign in order, a future-stage signer does not have a row until the earlier stage completes and the next invitation is created.

A shared template is missing

Confirm that you are in the correct organization and that the template owner shared it directly, shared it with everyone, or transferred ownership as intended. An archived template appears under Archived, not the active template views.
