ConceptSignatures

Signatures overview

Understand how Signatures prepares agreements, coordinates recipients, tracks progress, and reuses templates.

Signatures is the organization workspace for preparing documents, assigning signers, sending invitations, and tracking signing progress. It separates the signed-in sender experience from the access-link journey used by an invited signer.

Main areas

AreaWhat it does
DashboardSummarizes total documents, action required, waiting for others, completed agreements, and recent activity.

The dashboard exposes Send document, Sign an agreement, Create a template, and Use a template as the primary starting points.

Agreement preparation

A multi-signer agreement moves through three sender steps:

  1. Add documents uploads the source file and optionally associates an entity or fund.
  2. Customize adds recipients and places signing fields on the document. Sign in order enforces the displayed recipient sequence.
  3. Send invitations to sign confirms the Email subject and optional Email message before invitations are sent.

Supported uploads are PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT, and PPTX files up to 10 MB. The prepared signing document is stored as a signature resource; do not use a customer agreement as a documentation example.

Document lifecycle

The underlying document advances from draft to sent, then to partially signed and fully signed as invitations complete. A draft, sent, or partially signed document can be cancelled. Fully signed and cancelled documents are terminal.

The sender-facing Agreements statuses combine document and recipient state into task-oriented labels such as Action required, Waiting for others, Sent, Completed, and Draft.

Access boundary

An authenticated organization member can open Signatures. Document and template access is also resource-specific:

  • only the uploader can edit a draft document or inspect its invitation-status page;
  • an uploader or assigned signer can open an accessible document;
  • a template must be owned by the viewer, shared directly, shared with everyone, or available through administrator scope;
  • only the template owner can transfer or change sharing;
  • stamps belong to the current user.

Invitation links are access-bearing material. Never put a real signer URL, access token, recipient address, or signed document in public documentation.
