Move a deal through a decision
Create a deal, move it between pipeline stages, pass it with a recorded reason, and verify its history.
This guide creates an opportunity, advances it through working stages, and records a passed decision with an auditable reason.
Before you begin
You need:
- an authenticated organization-member account with Dealflow enabled;
- an existing pipeline with active stages and at least one Passed-kind stage;
- approved synthetic or customer data appropriate for the workspace;
- authorization before sending any decline email.
Create the deal
- Open
https://dealflow.infra.one/your-organization-slug. - Select New deal.
- Enter the required Name.
- Choose Stage and Source: Manual, Referral, or Email.
- Optionally choose Owner and enter approved Contact person or Fund or manager data.
- Select Create deal.
Move through active stages
- In Deals, choose the Kanban layout.
- Find the new deal under its current stage.
- Drag the card to the intended active stage and wait for the move to finish.
- Reload the browser and confirm that the card remains in the destination column.
- Open the deal and verify the selected Stage and the recorded transition under Activity.
You can also change Stage from the deal detail page. If another session changed the card first, Dealflow rejects the stale Kanban move and reloads authoritative state.
Pass the deal
- Open the intended deal.
- Select Pass.
- Enter the required Reason.
- Optionally choose Revisit on.
- If Email the decline to name appears, note that it is selected by default. Clear it unless the recipient and message are explicitly approved. Leaving it selected creates an external side effect using the configured decision email.
- Select Pass deal.
Dealflow moves the opportunity to the first stage whose kind is Passed. Moving it out of a passed stage clears the pass reason and revisit date.
Success check
The detail page shows the configured stage whose kind is Passed, the recorded reason, and the revisit date when provided. Deals places the card in that passed-kind stage, and Activity contains the stage transition.
Troubleshooting
- If New deal or stage changes are denied, confirm organization membership and the deal-management capability.
- If a Kanban card returns to its original column, reload and check whether the source state became stale or the move failed validation.
- If Pass deal fails, enter a reason and confirm that the pipeline contains a Passed-kind stage.
- If a decline email should not have been sent, stop and follow the organization’s incident process; do not try to conceal the activity.
