Submit an award application
Open an Allocator One award, continue through the correct organization and linked application, complete the three steps, and verify submission.
This journey creates and submits an award entry for the organization application linked by Apply. It does not submit or replace the organization’s separate Allocator One program application.
Before you begin
You need:
- the official public link for an award whose submission window is open;
- a confirmed Infra One account;
- membership in the submitting organization;
- the organization-member
manage_award_submissioncapability; - authority to provide the fund’s award category, thesis, sourcing, personal, community, metric, and market answers.
Apply associates a first award submission with the organization’s most recently updated program application. Review the fund or organization shown before creating the submission. One submission can exist for each award and linked application.
Submit for the award
- Open the official
https://apply.infra.one/awards/:award_sluglink you received, where the final segment identifies that award. - Confirm the award name under award name submission. Review Important dates, Submissions open, and Submission deadline.
- Select Submit for award name.
- Sign in and select the intended organization. If your account belongs to exactly one organization, Apply opens it automatically.
- Review the organization landing. When an existing entry appears, select Continue submission or View submission. For a new entry, confirm the fund or organization named on the card, then select Submit for award name.
- In Award category, select the requested fund generation when shown, choose at least one available category, and answer Why are you a perfect fit for this category? Aim for the displayed guidance of about 200 words; the enforced maximum is 5,000 characters. Global awards show Fund I or Fund II and filter the category choices accordingly.
- Select Continue.
- In Submission questions, answer the thesis example, sourcing edge, personal journey, community trust, key metric, and overlooked-trend questions. A Fund II global entry also requires the fund-evolution answer. Each narrative answer is limited to 5,000 characters.
- Select Continue to open Submit for review.
- Read the evaluation notice. If Apply says the organization has not yet applied for Allocator One funding, note that the award can be submitted now but the linked program application still has to be completed separately.
- Select Submit for review.
Use Save & exit to persist incomplete answers and return to the award landing. Back and direct step navigation also save current answers. Continue validates the current step before advancing.
Success check
Apply shows Your submission has been sent for review and returns to the organization’s award page. The card shows Submission status: Submitted and offers View submission.
If the linked program application still shows Started, follow Linked application only when that application’s own program is still open, then complete it and select Submit application there. If it belongs to an older or closed program, stop and contact support. An award success message is not proof that the program application was submitted.
Access and lifecycle
The public award landing does not grant form access. The authenticated form checks the application’s stored organization and the current user’s access to that application.
Customer-facing award states are:
- Started — an automatically nominated or saved draft entry;
- Submitted — the award form passed full validation and was sent for review.
A submitted award entry remains editable while the award submission window is open. When the window closes, Apply blocks the form and shows Submissions for this award are closed.
Editing and selecting Save & exit does not demote an existing card from Submitted, even if a required answer is now incomplete. Return to Submit for review and submit again; the card status alone does not prove the edited answers were revalidated.
An automatically nominated or saved-but-unsubmitted Started award entry can send reminders 10 and 2 days before the award closes. Each reminder is addressed to every current membership of the linked application’s organization; pending invitations are excluded, and Submitted entries are skipped. An automatic nomination also schedules its initial notification email for about 24 hours later.
If the organization has no prior program application, starting the award entry creates a Started application only while an Allocator One program batch is also open. That program application can also enter the separate unfinished-application reminder stream. Otherwise Apply shows Applications are not open right now, so a submission cannot be started yet.
Troubleshooting
If Apply names the wrong fund before creation, stop. The first entry uses the organization’s most recently updated application; contact support before associating the award with the wrong record.
If submission opens an earlier step, complete every required answer. Final validation shows Complete the remaining steps before submitting and returns to the first incomplete step.
If a long answer cannot be saved, shorten it to 5,000 characters or fewer. Apply may show Could not save your answers. Fix the highlighted fields.
If Apply says You do not have access to this application, check the selected organization and membership. Changing the application ID or organization slug cannot grant access.
If the award is closed, there is no customer override. Record the award name, organization, visible status, and exact message for support without including private narrative answers.
