How-toRecommend

Recommend multiple GPs

Add up to 10 GP rows, personalize the shared invitation template, and resolve row-specific validation before sending.

Use one Recommend submission to introduce several general partners with the same invitation subject and message.

Before you begin

Sign in on the intended organization’s Recommend a GP link. Prepare the verified first name, last name, and email address for every GP. One submission can contain from one to 10 GP rows.

The Subject and Message apply to every row in that submission. Check wording and placeholders before sending.

Add and review the GP rows

  1. Complete the first GP row.
  2. Select Add GP for each additional person.
  3. Enter First name, Last name, and Email in every row.
  4. To remove an extra row, use its Remove GP control. The last remaining row cannot be removed.
  5. Stop when all intended GPs are present or the form reaches 10 rows. At 10, Add GP is no longer shown.

Personalize the invitation

  1. Review Subject and Message in Recommendation email.
  2. Keep [First name] and [Last name] where the recommender’s name should appear.
  3. Keep [GP First name] and [GP Last name] where each recipient’s name should appear.
  4. Confirm that any link and wording are appropriate for every GP in the batch.
  5. Select Send recommendation(s).

Recommend validates every row before it writes the batch and commits the recommendation records in one database transaction. If one row is invalid or a database operation fails, the form preserves the typed rows and points to the offending field rather than reporting a partial database success. After commit, Recommend attempts each invitation separately; the success flash does not prove delivery.

Success check

The page reports Sent the recommendations, returns to one empty GP row, and restores the default invitation text. Treat that as record-and-attempt confirmation, not a receipt from each recipient.

Troubleshooting

  • Add GP disappeared: the form already contains its maximum of 10 rows. Send the reviewed batch before starting another.
  • Remove GP is unavailable: the form keeps at least one row so an empty submission cannot report success.
  • A row shows “Email format is invalid.”: correct that row’s address and submit again.
  • A row shows “This value is already taken.”: the normal duplicate check found that the signed-in account already recommended that email address. Concurrent submissions are not protected by a database uniqueness constraint, so do not retry in parallel.
  • A recipient did not get the invitation: preserve the successful submission, verify the address, and use an approved support path instead of creating another recommendation.
  • Typed rows remain after an error: this is intentional. Correct the highlighted row without re-entering the valid rows.
