People
Understand how People connects person records, employments, time off, work time, tasks, workflows, legal entities, and sensitive access.
People is Infra One’s organization-scoped HR workspace for person records, employments, time off, work time, assigned tasks, and HR workflows. It is separate from Contacts: Contacts manages CRM relationships, while People holds employment and workforce records.
People runs at people.infra.one. Access requires a signed-in account, membership in the organization, and an enabled People rollout for the organization or user. A guest or a user without that organization membership cannot use the organization’s People workspace.
The People model
People keeps identity, account access, and employment as separate records:
| Record | What it represents |
|---|---|
| Person | The organization’s HR identity record, including contact and personal details. |
| Linked account | An optional connection between the person and one current organization member. Linking enables that member’s self-service views. The same account cannot be linked to two people in one organization. |
| Employment | An effective-dated assignment to a legal entity, with a classification, start date, position, manager, and working-time details. A person can exist before an employment is added. |
| Legal entity | The employer record referenced by employments and its document archive. People currently exposes these records for browsing; it does not provide legal-entity creation or editing. |
| Workflow instance | A set of tasks created for one person from a workflow template and trigger date. |
Amending an employment creates a new effective-dated version and closes the preceding version on the day before the amendment takes effect. Termination records the selected final employment day. This history drives the directory states Active, Leaving, Starting, and Former.
How access fits together
Every non-guest organization member has People self-service. A linked person record is still required before People can show that member’s own time off, work time, tasks, or profile data.
Additional access is cumulative:
- a person can view their own profile, including their own compensation and health records;
- a current line manager can open a direct report’s profile and decide time-off requests assigned to them;
- Time and absence manager adds the directory, legal entities, team calendar, organization-wide time-off decisions, and read-only review of other people’s work-time sheets;
- HR administrator adds person and employment administration, ordinary HR documents, compensation-independent private HR details, and workflows;
- See compensation, Manage compensation, and See health data are separate sensitive-data grants. No People role includes them.
An organization administrator can assign a People role and sensitive-data selections from the organization’s Team settings, but organization-administrator status alone does not provide the Time and absence manager or HR administrator capabilities.
Read People permissions and states before granting access or working with another person’s record.
Main work areas
- Overview is the People landing page.
- Directory lists people and employment-derived status, legal entity, and position data for People role holders.
- Time off shows the linked person’s balances and requests.
- Work time records the linked person’s own daily entries. Time and absence managers and HR administrators can select another person only to review that sheet.
- My tasks lists open workflow tasks assigned to the linked person.
- Time-off approvals lists a line manager’s assigned requests, or every pending request for a Time and absence manager or HR administrator. The page heading is Approvals.
- Team calendar shows approved absences for People role holders.
- Workflows lets HR administrators create templates, start instances, and review recent instances.
- Legal entities provides a searchable employer list and document archives.
- Settings is a read-only Roles and permissions and Sensitive data reference. It does not configure People.
Employment classifications
Classification changes which self-service operations are valid:
- Employee employments are eligible for leave requests and require working-time records.
- Free service contract employments are not eligible for leave requests; working-time recording is optional.
- Contractor employments are not eligible for leave requests or People working-time recording.
These checks use the effective employment for the requested date. A person record by itself does not make someone eligible.
Start using People
Follow Request time off in People for a self-service outcome. HR administrators can continue with Run People workflows to create employment records and workflow templates. Use Troubleshoot People when a page, profile, sensitive section, or task is unavailable.
