Create a billing account and draft contract
Create the customer billing account, select published pricing, define parties and terms, and inspect the frozen draft contract.
This guide creates a customer billing account and a contract snapshot without starting billing. At the end, you can review a Draft contract and its frozen lines before activation.
Before you begin
You need:
- Billing enabled for the organization or your account;
- organization-admin permission to manage Billing;
- a customer legal entity in your organization’s entity registry;
- an approved language and payment terms, plus a billing email when your process uses one;
- a published Products plan version with price points for the intended currency and jurisdiction;
- the selling legal entity and approved contract dates.
If the contract should be linked to an Engage record, obtain the ID of a signed, unlinked engagement for the same organization and customer. The link is optional.
Create the billing account
- Open
https://billing.infra.one/your-organization-slug. - Select Accounts, then Add account.
- In New billing account, enter the account Name of no more than 200 characters.
- Select the Customer entity. This legal entity is fixed for the account.
- Optionally enter the Billing email.
- Choose Language: English or German.
- Set Payment terms (days) between 0 and 365.
- Select Save account.
Once the account has a contract, the account view lists that contract and its current lifecycle state.
Start the contract wizard
- Open the billing account.
- Select New contract.
- On Plan, select a published Plan.
- Choose the Pricing jurisdiction. Billing uses matching price points and falls back to default rows where supported.
- Select the Contract currency.

Confirm the parties
- On Parties, select the Selling entity that issues invoices.
- Confirm the displayed Customer entity. It is fixed by the billing account.
- Select Continue.
Define the terms

- Select a Billing period: Monthly, Quarterly, or Annually.
- Optionally enter Contract start and Term end. When both are present, Term end must be on or after Contract start.
- Choose Proration: Daily or None.
- Under On resume after suspension, choose Back-bill the frozen periods or Forgive the frozen periods.
- Optionally enter the signed Engagement ID.
- Select Continue.
Create and inspect the draft
- On Review, confirm the Readiness checklist.
- Select Create draft contract.
- Confirm the contract shows Draft.
- Review Seller, Customer, Billing period, and Bills from.
- Review every row under Lines against the selected published plan version.
The draft callout confirms that lines are a frozen plan-version snapshot and billing starts only after activation.
Success check
The billing account appears under Billing accounts, and its contract shows Draft with the intended parties, currency, terms, and snapshot lines. No billing has begun.
Before activation, follow Activate and manage a billing contract. If the plan, currency, or contract cannot be created, use Troubleshoot Billing.
